Liquitex Crackle Paste Is A Thick, Opaque Cracking Material Designed To Create A Crackled Texture As It Dries On Rigid Surfaces. It Dries To A Hard, Opaque Finish To Create A Structurally Stable Crackle Effect That Is Durable And Of Archival Quality. The Medium Can Be Used On Its Own And Painted Over Once Dry Or It Can Be Mixed With Acrylic Colour. How To Use: Use The Crackle Paste On A Rigid Support Only. When Using On Wood, Seal With A Base Layer Of Fluid Or Gel Medium And Let Dry Before Applying The Crackle Paste. If Mixing With Acrylic Colour, Use No More Than 15% Paint To 85% Medium. Apply The Paste Evenly To The Surface With A Palette Knife And Leave To Dry For At Least 24 Hours Before Painting Over. Cracking Will Vary Depending On How Thickly You Apply It - The Effects Will Be More Obvious On Thicker Applications But Will Take Longer To Dry. The Recommended Thickness For The Crackling Effect Is Between 5mm And 10mm. Don’t Dilute The Medium With Water. Drying With A Fan Or Heater May Result In Less Or No Cracking. Don’t Try To Slow Down The Drying Time By Adding A Slow Drying Medium As This Will Affect The Crackling Effect.
