Alain Chavy Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022/23

If you like fresh, elegant Chardonnay, you're in for a treat with this. It's made by Alain Chavy, a winemaker whose family name has been one of Burgundy's finest for 200 years. Alain's vineyards lie in and around Puligny-Montrachet, a prestigious appellation celebrated for its exceptional white wines, many of which demand three-figure price tags. This bottling, however, doesn't feature that renowned name on its label – and so it offers fantastic value for money. It's aged for 12 months in oak barrels at low temperatures, giving it a subtle texture while still allowing the fruity flavours to take centre stage. Expect notes of citrus and stone fruits, plus a steely minerality that'll pair beautifully with fish and seafood.
