Honey Drop Shiraz 2023/24, Western Cape

The Gabb family were originally from Shropshire, but in 1995 they fell in love with a picturesque wine farm in South Africa's stunning Schapenberg Hills. Today, nearly 30 years on, they're renowned for producing a wide range of highly acclaimed wines that showcase the diversity of the country's Western Cape. This Shiraz hails from Swartland, where a hot and dry climate makes for grapes with deliciously concentrated flavours. Part of the wine spends 16 months maturing in oak barrels, giving it fantastic complexity and a silky texture. Discover bold notes of cherry, prune, blackcurrant and black pepper, with touches of black olive and vanilla. It's a wonderfully versatile wine, so try it with barbecued meats, chilli or charcuterie.
