Rodding points, or rodding eyes as they are sometimes called, are used to allow access into a drain for inspection and cleaning.Rodding eyes are almost always used in conjunction with storm water (surface water) drains. They should always be located in an upstream position to ensure that any blockages that are cleared flow downstream.The rodding point is completely airtight, access is provided by removing the four screws which secure the main plate.
