Product Description

Enjoy a bountiful harvest with the Blueberry 'Chandler', a self-fertile variety renowned for its exceptionally juicy and flavourful fruit. Expect to pick enormous, firm berries, some weighing up to 2g and measuring 20mm (¾inch) in diameter, from early August through to mid-September.This stout blueberry bush is not only a fruit producer but also an attractive addition to patios or acidic borders. In spring, it bursts into life with masses of sweetly scented, creamy-white flowers, followed by a display of fiery crimson foliage in autumn. Blueberries are packed with health-boosting compounds and are delicious in pies, muffins and jams. For optimal growth, plant in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. If your garden lacks naturally acidic soil, grow blueberry plants in containers using ericaceous compost mixed with John Innes No. 3. Water with rainwater whenever possible to maintain soil acidity, as the lime content in tap water can reduce it over time.Expect fruit production to begin in the third year. Protect developing berries from birds with netting. From the third year onwards, prune the oldest stems each autumn to encourage new growth and maintain a healthy plant structure.Position: Full Sun/Partial Shade.Height: Up to 1.5m when fully established.Spread: Up to 1.5m when fully established.Supplied as 1 x Blueberry ‘Chandler’ (Vaccinium) bush in a 3 Litre Pot. Delivered with growing and care instructions.Images are for guidance only and show the expected results from mature plants. Growing conditions can affect results. The image may also illustrate the supply, but this can vary due to seasonal changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
