In areas without naturally acidic soil, grow your blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No.3. Water with rainwater if possible, as tap water's lime content can gradually reduce soil acidity.Expect your first fruits in the third year. As the berries ripen, protect them from birds with netting.
