Product Description

The Camellia Japonica Collection showcases three hardy evergreen shrubs, each boasting vibrant blooms in pink, yellow, or red. Flowering from mid to late spring, these beauties provide long-lasting colour. For the remainder of the year, glossy green foliage ensures an attractive screen, adding both structure and height to your garden. This collection thrives in full sun or partial shade, featuring the Bonomiana Pink, Brushfield Yellow, and Dr. King Red varieties. Pot size is provided, as plant height and spread will vary throughout the seasons. The height and spread of plants upon delivery may differ, depending on the season; images are for indicative purposes only. Camellias flourish in moist, well-drained, acidic soil, ideally in a sheltered, shaded spot. Where acidic soil is lacking, camellias can be grown in patio containers using ericaceous compost mixed with John Innes No.3, positioned in dappled shade. Regular watering is crucial until the plants are established. Rainwater is preferable, as tap water's lime content can reduce soil acidity. Periodic feeding with fertiliser formulated for acid-loving plants is recommended. Protect camellias from cold winter winds and strong early morning sunlight to prevent bud drop in early spring. Autumn mulch can protect their roots from winter cold. Camellias require minimal pruning; simply trim stems lightly to maintain shape and remove faded blooms after flowering. Images serve as guidance for mature plant expectations but may vary due to growing conditions and seasonal changes.
