Choose a spot that offers either sun or semi-shade, with moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Position the top of the rootball 7.5cm below soil level to encourage new shoots from the plant's base. Clematis thrive when trained onto supports like trellis or wires.Throughout the growing season, feed and water frequently. Prune in summer after flowering, removing any damaged or dead stems and cutting back the remaining stems to a pair of healthy buds to maintain shape and size.
