This is done to reduce the bedding in time on pads with a larger surface area. The bedding in procedure on these pads can be as little as 5 braking application. The thermal treatment also stabilises the resins in the material eliminating pad shrinkage. Ferodo DSUNO brake pads are designed for competition / off-road use, and as such are not approved for use on the road.
